Description of the picture:

Snow Maiden - Mikhail Vrubel. 1890. Paper, watercolor, gouache. 25x17

The artist was ordered costumes to the opera "Snow Maiden". The main character was especially interested in the master. The artist portrayed the heroine at the time of the appearance in front of people.
The heroine is a little confused, although she is confident enough in herself. On the lips a slight, barely perceptible smile. The character of the heroine is opened by the eyes - big, surprised, ready for new, previously unknown impressions, knowledge, adventures.
Interestingly executed outfit Snow Maiden. The master chose an unusual technique, clearly depicting the cut of a magic fur coat from an unknown material.
Despite the sketchy work, the main thing in which the costume was supposed to be, the author could not resist working on the background and details, even sketchy ones.
The wall is a winter forest behind the back of the heroine. A squirrel is sitting at her feet, the only follower of the heroine who dares to leave a thick forest thicket for a minute.
